Alpha Flight Services brought SBM onboard to utlise Point Creative Agency to design Virgin Australia’s duty free In-Flight catalogue.

Virgin Airlines wanted the magalogue to be read and handled like a magazine, while at the same time it needed to generate revenue for onboard retail. This was the challenge, how to draw their audience in and captivate them with new an interesting products to promote sales.

The Virgin Australia duty free magalogue reflects a fashionable and contemporary magazine which is intended to be browsed, read and evoke intrigue in the audience about the latest products available through Virgin Australia duty free, coupled with thought-provoking editorial content. Like the Virgin Australia brand, the aesthetic of the magazine is intended to be stylish, vibrant and confident.

The cover was designed and art directed by Point Creative Agency, engaging SBM’s Pixel Studio’s to shoot the cover photography. The cover was to be a travel inspired mix of a selection of products featured in the magalogue, creating desire and intrigue for the Virgin Australia traveller. Once shot, the cover went to Colourpedia for retouching; making the hero product pop, and adjusting the colour palette to truly compliment the Virgin Australian brand.

Point Creative Agency recently picked up a 2018 Gold Muse Creative Award for the design of the Magalogue. It was also shortlisted as a finalist for the 2018 Australasian Catalogue Awards for the creative.
